The other day while reading an article in an african courier magazine, i came accross the term Afro-Czech, used ofcourse to refer Africans residing in the Czech republic. It got me thinking about what other such terms would be circulating around. We already have Afro-Americans. So what would be next? Afro-English sounded corny and lame to me so i dropped it immediately and moved on. Afro-Swedes sounded quite ok to me, though not so easy on the tongue. How about if you came from Hungary? Afro-Hunger? Afro-Hungry? Not bad if you ask me. I kept on playing with a few titles such as Afro-polish, Afro-Holl, Afro-Belgy, Afro-French and so on. It wasn’t until i asked myself what Africans in Germany would call themselves that i decided to discard the whole Afro idea. We just plains africans. For who wants to be called Afro-Germs?
About this Afro Whatevers, am sure nobody wants to be called Afro-Germ!!!! Just a plain African is okey and it should also stay like that….I like your Blog….*thumbs up*

in Germany (Deutschland) African do call themselve Africans, true. But you might have noticed, that not all black people are from Africa and, this is a world wide phenomena, starting more then 300 years ago, there is a Black Diaspora. Also in Germany where we want to be call Afro-Deutsche.

I think we should just turn this Afro name into something cool,almost 300 years ago whites were calling blacks Niggers,but black people made this name poetry,now even white people feel good when you walk to him and say” thats my nigger”,dont let it burn you being called Afro,insist upon it,Barrack was called Barry when he was young but later he insisted on Obama,it made him apart of something.If we are called Afro then it means we are one thing at a certain level thus promoting unity.But i find it funny nobody says Euro-Americans,but we have Latino-Americans,Afro-Americans,Afro-Carrebeans.What do we call Lord Delamere´s grand son in kenya,Anglo-Kenyan?Anglo Leasing is bad enough!
